Feb Half Term Fun at Waddesdon Manor
10 February - 18 February
Waddesdon have a fun-filled February half-term planned where kids go free with both indoor and outdoor activities. Opening dates and times are Sat 10-Sun 18 Feb (closed Mon & Tue 13) 10am-4pm.
Doodle Jam Feb Half Term Fun
Doodle Jam back to Waddesdon. From 10am-4pm in the Coach House Gallery at the Stables. We absolutely loved this free, drop-in activity.
They have illustrator Scott WAlker filling up huge canvases with creative doodles from birds to snakes and monsters and more. It was really fascinating to watch as he doodled away and my son loved the big markers to colour in, following closely behind Scott.
Waddesdon Manor Adventure Playground
We were lucky with the weather as the sun came out and we could have a good run around the adventure playground.
This is all included in grounds entry so no extra to pay. It’s spread out through the woods and connected by a wooden pathway so puschair friendly too.
We start at the top with the zip wire and high tube slide and worked out way down with challenges along the way to the younger ones playground at the end by the stables.
Explore the Grounds at Waddesdon
Waddesdon is also perfect for a family walk with lots of areas to explore. We headed over to the Aviary to check out the birds and then ambled round to the manor house passing a lovely bank of snowdrops on the way. Lovely to finally see these first signs of spring.

The Most Amazing Jacket Potatoes at Waddesdon Manor
I have to give a special mention to my lunch! My jacket potato was so good it really deserves a review all of it’s own. Down at the stables cafe opposite where the Doodle Jam is taking place you can get hot drinks, tasty treats and light lunches.
For kids there is the choice of fish goujons, a half jacket potato or pasta. The adults menu is Rooster baked potatoes with olive oil and sea salt. The range of toppings is mouthwatering from chicken & wild mushrrom with truffle cream to honey & mustard pork sausages. I chose the home snoken sea trout with watercress, horseradish and dill creme fraiche. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to settle for cheese & beans again in the future – it was a taste sensation.
It came also came served with puy lentils, sun blushed tomatoes, edamame beans, pomegranate and crispy shallots and dressed with a wholegrain mustard vinaigrette.
