Juli Frances Taylor, local children’s poet, is running a free Poetry Play session for 5-10 yr olds during school holidays. Play games, dance, eat biscuits, read poems, eat more biscuits and generally have a loud and energetic hour. Finishing with balloons and stickers.

The hour long session starts with Run&Rhyme – where the kids have to find rhyming words & pictures hidden around the hall. Silly Sentences is similar to musical chairs – but the kids play for the words to make up a nonsense sentence. Finally, Wacky Wordplay is a hundred plastic balls with rhyming words on twenty of them.

There is a quiet corner for children who prefer to draw or observe, and tea, coffee and biscuits for the grown ups.

The poems read are inclusive and the kids are encouraged to shout & join in.  You can find some of the poems on the Juli Frances Taylor website.

This free one hour session is restricted to 20 children only so booking is essential
