Hairspray The Musical at New Victoria Theatre

Hairspray took Broadway by storm, winning 8 Tony awards. The production went on to win 4 Olivier awards in the West End, and multiple awards worldwide. This feel-good classic is back, live on stage at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking from Monday 31st March to Saturday 5th April 2025.

Starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Joanne Clifton (Shrek the Musical, The Addams Family) as the fierce yet fabulous Velma von Tussle. Making her directorial debut is Hairspray royalty Brenda Edwards (Hairspray, We Will Rock You) who will bring new energy from behind the scenes.

From start to finish, absolutely brilliant & I am not just saying this!!!
Just W🤩W!!! We naively didn’t really know what the show/musical was about & my goodness were we mind blown throughout!! It was just so SO GOOD!
From start to finish, the power, intensity, singing, acting, costumes, fun, frolics, humour, professionalism & so much more, absolute perfection.
We, the audience went from being mesmorised to pure belly laughs to tears & facing real truths to utter amazement & more ~
Such a powerful & delicate plot to portray, so needed & current in the world which we live in today. Race, colour, size, gender – all of it & more… just incredible.

If you get a chance, please go – you won’t be disappointed. The brilliant standing ovation & audience love & joy at the end said it all xx
